Bourses bounce back

DHAKA, Jan 15, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s premier bourse, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), today bounced back to the green overcoming bearish streak of previous days as opportunist investors revealed their buying interest.

The broad index, DSEX closed at 4068.20 points on Wednesday with a gain of 31.96 points or 0.79 percent.

Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up by 9.59 points and 7.22 points to settle at 1371.23 points and 914.25 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 91,004 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 85.41 million securities.

Gainers took a strong lead over losers as out of 353 issues traded, 210 securities gained price while 94 declined and 49 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were Tasrifa Industries, Shahjalal Islami Bank, Premier Cement, BD Autocars, MBL First Mutual Fund, SEML FBSL Growth Fund, Karnaphuli Insurance, Standard Insurance, AIBL First Mutual Fund and Apex Foods.

Brac Bank topped the turnover chart followed by Square Pharma, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, ADN Telecom, Standard Ceramics, KPCL, Northern Jute, Zenex Infosys, SS Steel and Beacon Pharma.

The top 10 losers were Shyampur Sugar, Northern Jute, Stylecraft, ADN Telecom, Atlas Bangla, Libra Infusion, ISN, Heidelberg Cement, Reliance Insurance and Gemini Sea Food.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed at green overcoming the bearish trend of previous day.

CSCX and CASPI increased by 58.03 points and 97.69 points to stand at 7504.85 points and 12393.04 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 5,116,556 shares and mutual fund of 232 companies were traded, of which 125 issues advanced while 77 declined and 30 issues remained unchanged.
