DHAKA, Dec 17, 2019 (BSS)-Dhaka Platoon fast bowler Wahaba Riaz couldn’t be the part of Dhaka Platoon in their Chattogram phase of Bangbandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) as he left the country for Pakistan to attend the wedding programme of his sister.

He will join the side once they come back to Dhaka from Chattogram.
Wahab Riaz’s absence meant Dhaka will be without their two first choice
players in their opening match of the Chattogram phase tomorrow (Wednesday)
when they take on hosts Chattogram Challengers at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury
Stadium.

“As for Tamim he is still in the hospital for treatment,” Dhaka Platoon
coach Mohammad Salahuddin said here in Chattogram today.

“I don’t think he will be fit to play our next match but we are hoping
that he will be available in the following match,” he said.

The left-handed opener is having severe fever and did not travel with
the team.

The left-handed opener is expected to leave the hospital in this evening
but as he is unlikely to recover within a night to make himself available for
their first game at his home town.

“He will leave in the evening but he must recover fully to make him
available as currently he is looking to be very weak,” said Debashish
Chowdhury.

“In the evening we will do a scan for his groin injury. Whenever there
is fever, automatically any pain in the body gets higher. We have to see
where he stands as far as his groin injury is concerned though it did not
appear too serious,” Dr Chowdhury added.

To make the matter worse, Dhaka’s captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza also
didn’t practice with the side today but Salahuddin said there is nothing to
be worried with the captain.

“Mashrafe is fit and doing his gym and other practices. He is not in the
practice session doesn’t mean he is unfit. There is nothing to be worried
with him,” Salahuddin said.

“This practice session is optional so it is not mandatory for him to
come here. He is involved with the team.”
