Mabia keeps honor of country; Shahed Reza

POKHARA, Dec 7, 2019 (BSS)- Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza today said he is very happy as Mabia Akter kept the honor of the country by winning the gold medal in the ongoing SA games.

“I was confident that before with the Mabia’s gold … there are also some events left like archery, cricket or even in shooting which I am expecting more gold medal in the games …. I am happy that Mabia finally kept the honor of the country,” said Shahed Reza to the press at Banquet hall of Pokhara when wanted to know his feeling after Mabia’s gold.

Complying Mabia’s previous statement Reza said: “There is no alternative way of long term training to make competent athlete for the competition …….. I personally called Mabia in my office and asked if she has any personal choice of coach … we have to go with proper planning.”

He also thanked the present government, especially the sports loving Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, because when the BOA fell crisis of fund to run training camp for the games, the Prime Minister came forward to stand beside the BOA.

He also thanked the federations for their extensive supports to BOA during the camp of the athlete for games. It can be mention that, Mabia won the gold medal in women’s 76 kg weight category of the ongoing SA Games weightlifting.

It was her second back to back gold after Guwahati SA games held in India in 2016.
