KHULNA, Nov 20, 2019 (BSS) – The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB)
is going to begin sale of onion at Taka 45 per kilograms tomorrow here to
help people buy this cooking ingredient in a fair price.
“We will start open market sale of onion tomorrow initially at five spots
in the city,” said Khulna Regional Officer of TCB Md Rabiul Morshed today.
Onions will be sold in open markets in Tutpara area, in front of DC’s
office, Bottala near New market, Daulotpur Bus stand and Moylapota
intersection, he said.
To contain the soaring onion price, the Ministry of Commerce has already
instructed the TCB to sell the onion at a subsidized rate in the country, he
added.
He said no one will get chance to stockpile onion and TCB will sell the
essential item at the rate fixed by the government.
