36 rivers register rise, 50 fall

DHAKA, Aug 1, 2017 (BSS) – Water levels at 36 rivers stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 50 recorded fall.

Among the 90 monitored water level stations, one is flowing above danger level, said a FFWC bulletin here today.

The Jumuna, Ganges-Padma and Surma-Kushiyara rivers are in rising trend while the Brahmaputra river is in steady state.

The Brahmaputra river is likely to fall while the Jumuna river may remain steady in the next 24 hours.

The Ganges-Padma rivers likely to continue rising trend in the next 24 hours while the Surma-Kushiyara rivers may rise during the period.

The rainfall was recorded 68.0 mm at Kanaighat, 65.0 mm at Sunamganj, 57 mm at Sylhet and 47.5 mm at Teknaf during the last 24 hours ending at 9 am today.
