Heat wave sweeping over parts of country

DHAKA, May 31, 2018 (BSS) – A mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions
of Khulna, Satkhira, Jashore, Dhaka and Kishoreganj, and it may abate in 24
hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

The met office predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes at many
places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal,
Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderate to heavy rainfall at places
over the country during the period.

Day temperature may fall by 1-3 degree Celsius with slight fall in night
temperature over the country, a met office weather bulletin said.

The maximum temperature was recorded 37.1 degrees Celsius yesterday at
Nikli in Dhaka Division and today’s minimum temperature 21.1 degrees Celsius
at Tarash in Rajshahi Division.

The highest 75 mm rainfall was recorded in Chattogram in last 24 hours
ending 6 am today.

The sun sets at 6:42 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in the
capital.
