China’s excavator sales up 17.8 pct in September
BEIJING, Oct. 19, 2019 (BSS/Xinhua) – China’s 25 leading excavator makers
sold a total of 15,799 excavators last month, up 17.8 percent year on year,
data from the China Construction Machinery Association showed.
In breakdown, 13,182 excavators were sold in the domestic market, rising
12.5 percent year on year, while exports of the equipment surged 54.9 percent
to 2,617.
In the first nine months, total sales amounted to 179,195 units, up 14.7
percent from the same period last year.
Sales of digging machines are an important indicator of the vitality of an
economy as demand is usually backed by growth in mining and infrastructure
development.
China sold a total of 203,420 excavators in 2018, surging 45 percent year
on year.
