National Women’s Chess Championship begins

DHAKA, Sept 19, 2019 (BSS)- The 39th National Women’s Chess Championship today kicked off at Bangladesh hall-room here.

FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Dawn), executive director and head of sports and welfare of WALTON Group, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.

Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) general secretary Syed Shahabuddin Shamim and BCF member Anjuman Ara Akshir were also present during the inaugurating ceremony.

A total of fifty chess players are taking part in the meet, organized by BCF.

The champions, runners-up, third place finishers, fourth place finishers, fifth place finishers, sixth place finishers and seventh to fourteen place finishers will get Taka 25,000, 18,000, 13,000, 8,000, 7,000, 5,000 and 3,000 as cash award.

The event is being held in nine round Swiss League system.
