Mominul to lead Bangladesh A in Sri Lanka

DHAKA, September 17, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday announced a 16-member Bangladesh A team for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

The second string Bangladesh team will play two-match four-day series and three-match one-day series in the tour.

Mominul Haque was appointed as the captain of the team which comprises of several players who have played in the national team in recent times.

The first four-day match is on September 23-26 at Khatunayeke while the second match is on September 30-October 3 at Galle.

The first two one-day is on October 7 and 9 at Hambantota while the series ending third match is on October 12 in Colombo.

”I think we need to concentrate on this tour as we have lot of Test matches in the upcoming days and in order to prepare us for the Test championship this tour is very important,” Mominul Haque said here on Tuesday.

“Four day matches will help us to have the confidence under our belt and that is very important,” he said.

Bangladesh lost the lone Test match against Afghanistan and looked to be in dire straits considering it was a big dent for their ego after being humiliated by the new Test playing nation that too at their own backyard.
