‘Govt. attaches top priority to technical education’

RAJSHAHI, Sept 15, 2019 (BSS)- Secretary of Technical and Madrasha
Education Division under the Ministry of Education Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed
has said that the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has
attached top priority to technical education aimed at generating skilled
human resources.

“The government is pledge-bound to take the country forward through
substantial and sustainable improvement of technical and vocational
education,” he said while addressing a seminar here yesterday as the chief
guest.

Rajshahi Polytechnic Institute (RPI) organized the seminar titled
“Technical Education: Opportunities and Challenges” in its conference hall in
the city.

Director General of Directorate of Technical Education Rawnak Mahmud,
Director General of Directorate of Madrasha Education Shafiuddin Ahmed,
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman and Chairman of Madrasha
Education Board Professor Murad Hossain Mollah addressed the seminar as
special guests. RPI Principal Engineer Farid Uddin Ahmed presided over the
programme.

Madrasah education is an important education system in the country,
Shahabuddin said, adding steps have been taken to incorporate technical
education under madrasah for transforming the students into competent
workforces.

Later on, Shahabuddin also addressed an integrity related seminar and a
workshop on dengue awareness at the same venue with Principal of Rajshahi
Mohila Polytechnic Institute Omor Faruque in the chair.
