Sleep disorder lab at BSMMU

DHAKA, August 22, 2019 (BSS) – Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical
University (BSMMU) opened the first ‘Sleep Lab’ in the country today.

Vice Chancellor of BSMMU Professor Dr Kanak Kanti Barua inaugurated the
lab at 8am in the morning at the 6th floor of C-block of BSMMU, said a
release.

Patients with sleep disorders or snoring can get their sleep tested at the
lab by Polysomnogram, the latest machine to identify sleep disorders at a low
cost.

The lab will also have facilities for tests and sleep study for ‘Adnoyed’
sleep disorder patients.

Sleep disorder is increasing worldwide alarmingly. If not diagnosed and
treated in time, it can result in high blood pressure or heart diseases.
