CHATTOGRAM, Aug 22, 2019 (BSS) – The Power Development Board (PDB) today snapped nine power lines and filed nine separate cases with respective police stations in the city’s Moderbari and DT road area for non-payment of
outstanding bills amounting to TK 14.42 lakh.

The sudden disconnection of lines caused immense sufferings to the
residents of the neighbourhood, local sources said.

Senior judicial magistrate of PDB court Irene Parvin said PDB had cut off
power supply to nine lines and filed nine separate cases for realising
outstanding bills of TK 14.42 lakh.

The defaulters alleged that power supply was snapped without serving any
notice. Meanwhile, the court realised TK 1.5 lakh as penalty from one Rijuara
Begum for having illegal power connection for a long time.
