BOGURA, Aug 22, 2019 (BSS) – Three people including a man and his wife
were killed and two others injured after being struck by lightning in
Sariakandi upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Amirul Islam, 40, of Dakatmara Char, his
wife Fima Begum, 30, and one Sumon, 32, of Batia Char in the upazila.
Amirul and his wife died as a lightning struck them beside their home
this afternoon. They died on the spot. Five cows which were belonging to them
were also killed.
Sumon was injured by another lightning hit him at the same time at Batia
Char. He was taken at a Sariakandi hospital where the duty doctor declared
him dead.
