Foreign aid commitment reaches $9,795.86m in FY19
DHAKA, July 28, 2019 (BSS) – The commitment of foreign aid to Bangladesh
during the last fiscal year reached $9,795.86 million whereas the
disbursement of foreign aid totaled $6,210.05 million.
This was disclosed at the 2nd meeting of the Parliamentary Standing
Committee on Ministry of Finance of 11th Jatiya Sangsad held at Jatiya
Sangsad Bhaban today.
Chaired by Parliamentary Standing Committee Chairman on Ministry of
Finance AH Mahmood Ali, Committee members Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal,
M Abdus Shaheed, Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury, Abul Kalam M Ahsanul Haque
Chowdhury, Ahmed Firoz Kabir, Rumana Ali and Rana Mohammed Sohel attended the
meeting, said a press release.
The meeting was informed that the amount of foreign currency reserve
during the FY18 reached $32.75 billion.
During the FY18, Bangladesh Bank provided Taka 689.35 crore to the
government as dividend while the central bank provided Taka 21,767 crore to
the government as loan.
The meeting also discussed in details about the present state and
operations of the Finance Division, Financial Institutions Division, Economic
Relations Division (ERD), Bangladesh Bank and also about the application of
the Grameen Bank Retired Officials Employees Welfare Association.
Secretaries and high officials concerned attended the meeting.
