Light to moderate rain likely over country

 DHAKA, May 6, 2018 (BSS)-Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur with moderately heavy to heavy falls and hails at isolated places over the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and the regions of Kushtia and Jashore with moderately heavy to heavy falls and hails at isolated places over northern part of the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9 am today,” said a met bulletin here.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Seasonal low lies over South Bay while trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, the bulletin added.

The maximum temperature was recorded 35.5 degrees celsius yesterday at Khulna and today’s minimum temperature 21.3 degrees celsius at Madaripur and Chuadanga in Dhaka and Khulna divisions respectively.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 73 mm at Kumarkhali in Khulna division.

The sun sets today at 6:29 pm and rises at 5:20 am tomorrow in the capital.
