1000 start-ups to be created by 2021: Palak

DHAKA, July 18, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak has said the government will provide financial assistance to create 1,000 start-ups by 2021 for aspirant entrepreneurs to build the country as digitised one.

“The ICT division has under taken various projects including Start-up Bangladesh Limited Company with a view to serving the aspirant entrepreneurs with different facilities as well as building the country as digitised one,” he said.

The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function organized on the occasion of the 5th founding anniversary of Shohoz.com, an online-based business venture, at a hotel in the city on Wednesday.

With Shohoz Managing Director Maliha M Quadir in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Kazi M Aminul Islam.

Harvard Business School Assistant Professor Dr Andy Wu also highlighted the future business plan of Shohoz.com during the time.

Representatives of different organizations including Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Syed Almas Kabir and Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Dr Rubana Huq were present on the occasion.
