BERC adjusts gas price upward
DHAKA, June 30, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today adjusted gas price upward as the consumers will have to pay Taka 975 for double burner and Taka 925 for single one.
BERC Chairman Monwar Islam announced the decision at a press conference in the capital’s Karwan Bazar this afternoon.
The decision will be effective from July 1, he said.
He said the gas price was adjusted considering the gas production, import of LNG, transmission and distribution charges and the country’s socio-economic condition.
Monwar said the existing minimum demand charge was withdrawn and instead a new demand charge of Tk 0.10 per CM per month was imposed for different consumer groups except the household ones.
