DHAKA, June 26, 2019 (BSS)-Bangladesh players were allowed to take some time off from the cricket as they have seven days at hands to play the next match in the World Cup.

The Tigers will take on India on July 2 in Birmingham in a must-win game. However the team management decided to keep them mentally fresh ahead of the game considering the fact that they have been in continuous cricket.

The players were provided a five-day break, said a team official.

Elated by the break the players are checking out in several hotels for quite some time now as they are away from the country since the last May, courtesy tri-nation in Ireland.

According to BCB officials these five days break was provided just to allow the players get some fresh air away from cricket and pressure attached to it.

”They are playing non-stop cricket for quite some time and due to that they are bound to be tired both mentally and physically,” said a BCB official.

”We wanted them to take rest and enjoy the time so that they can return with fresh pair of legs leaving behind all the fatigue that had crept into their mind and body,” he said.

Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan was expected to visit Paris, France with his family members to enjoy the leisure time.

As a result he left for London instead of accompanying some of his team mates for the team hotel in Birmingham.

However, he had to alter his plan due to visa problem and instead decided to enjoy the time roaming with his family members in and around London.

The other members of the squad have also made plans to and visit somewhere else but according to officials they are yet to take any final decision on their destination.

Bangladesh Cricket Board spokesman Rabeed Imam other players also left the team hotel for their respective holiday destination though none of them are leaving British Peninsula for passing their leisure time.

It was learnt captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and opener Tamim Iqbal planned to stay at the Birmingham team hotel during this holiday but it won’t be surprising if they change their mind and follow the footsteps of their team mates to get back some gas.

Some players have planned to stay in the hotel room same as Mashrafee and Tamim, others have planned to visit some other cities of England.

However, senior cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad had his holiday cut to facilitate his recovery from injury.

Mahmudullah, who had sustained a low grade calf injury during their previous game against Afghanistan on Monday, will be monitored until their match against India and his participation in the match will be determined after observing his latest condition.

The players were told to report back on June 29 at Edgbaston, Birmingham where they will take on India in their eighth match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.

The Tigers will then move to Lord’s, London to play their final league-stage match against Pakistan which will take place on July 5.

Bangladesh are currently placed at fifth in the point table with seven points in as many games and they must win the last two matches and hope other teams’ result may come for them to make their semi-final entry.
