Maritime ports advised to hoist local cautionary signal 3

DHAKA, June 20, 2019 (BSS) – The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number 3
as deep conviction is taking place over North Bay and adjoining coastal area
due to formation of a low there.

“Deep convection is taking place over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas
of Bangladesh. So maritime ports are advised to hoist local cautionary signal
No. three,” said a met office weather bulletin today.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come
close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.

Besides, southwest monsoon has advanced up to northwestern part of
Bangladesh covering Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Sylhet and Mymensingh
divisions, said Met office today.

Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind
is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and
Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and
Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the
country.

Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur,
Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Dhaka, Tangail, Faridpur,
Chandpur and Bhola and it may abate from some places.

Day temperature may fall by (1-3) degree Celsius and night temperature may
fall slightly over the country.
