Fazle Rabbi for strong monitoring to implement child budget

DHAKA, June 20, 2019 (BSS) – Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Md Fazle Rabbi Miah today emphasized on enhancing monitoring to implement the child budget allocated under different ministries properly in due time for the welfare of children.

“The government has introduced the child budget as the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is affectionate to the children … Sheikh Hasina’s government always shows generosity for the welfare of the children,” he said while addressing a view exchange meeting at Media Center at the Sangsad Bhaban in the city.

Community Participation and Development (CPD) organized the meeting with its Executive Director Moslema Bari in the chair.

Urging the government and non-government organizations to work together to prevent child trafficking, Fazle Rabbi said the present government has taken various steps to prevent child trafficking and child labour as well as protect child rights.

The Prime Minister has also ensured social security for the country’s people, he added.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs and Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights Md Shamsul Haque Tuku, Aktaruzzaman Babu, MP, and Gloria Jharna Sarker, MP, addressed the meeting as special guests.

Executive Director of INCIDIN Bangladesh AKM Masud Ali presented a keynote paper in the meeting, conducted by journalist Nikhil Bhadra.

In his paper, Masud Ali suggested for formulating and executing laws and creating awareness to prevent child trafficking and setting up child-friendly courts to dispose of child trafficking related cases.
