NILPHAMARI, June 15, 2019 (BSS)- A member of Borer Guard Bangladesh (BGB) died on duty being struck by thunderbolt on Thakurgonj frontier last night.
Police said thunderbolt struck BGB member Quamrul Hasan, 35 and his colleague Yasin Ali were hit by thunderbolt at about 11 pm last night when they were on duty with a patrol team.
Quamrul Hasan, hailed from Ullapara of Sirajgonj district, died on the spot while Yasin Ali injured critically. Other members of the patrol team took Yasin to Dimla Upazila Health Complex.
Body of Quamrul as been sent to Nilphamari Adhunik Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said local BGB officials.
