HOBIGONJ, June 8, 2019 (BSS) – A fire at Sutang bazaar of Shayestagonj upazila of the district last night completely gutted ten shops causing damage of properties worth about Taka one crore.
Owners of the shops estimated the cost of the devastation around over taka one crore while fire brigade is yet to ascertain the extent of damage.
Fire service sources said the two-hour fire broke out from electric short circuit at about 1 am in a cotton shop and quickly engulfed the other shops.
Fire service units from Shayestagonj and Hobigonj with the help of local people doused the fire which burnt ten shops including one hardware shop, a confectionary and a motor parts shop.
