Baul songs presented in Kurigram
KURIGRAM, May 5, 2019 (BSS) – Music enthusiasts of the district
experienced a different musical function featuring baul songs on the premises
of Kurigram Government College here today.
District Shilpakala Academy organised the function where baul singers from
different parts of the district entertained the audience presenting diverse
baul songs.
In between the performances, the artistes also narrated the inner meanings
and philosophy behind the songs. Audience was hypnotized by their songs and
verses.
Besides, dancers performed on Baul Sur in the programme.
A discussion was also held on the occasion. Principal of the college Md
Abdul Mannan addressed the programme as the chief guest while Deputy
Principal Mirza Nasir and General Secretary of the district Shilpakala
Academy Rasheduzzaman Babu also spoke, among others.
