Incentives given for Aus paddy cultivation in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR, May 4, 2019 (BSS)- Department of Agricultural Department(DAE)
has provided incentives among farmers for expansion of Aus paddy cultivation
in the district to boost rice production in the country.
The DAE office in Jamalpur said a total of 5979 poor and marginal farmers
got incentive for Aus paddy cultivation. Each of the farmers got five
kilogram Aus seed of BARRI-48 variety, 15 kilogram DAP fertilizer and 10
kilogram MOP fertilizer for cultivation on one Bigha of land.
A total of 800 farmers were given incentives in Jamalpur Sadar, 700
farmers in Sarishabari, 1000 farmers in Melandaha, 1000 farmers in Islampur,
800 farmers in Madarganj, 800 farmers in Bakshiganj and 879 farmers in
Dewanganj upazila, they added.
Deputy Director of DAE in Jamalpur office Md Aminul Islam said farmers are
encouraged to cultivate Aus paddy as they are getting good production through
investing little amount of money.
