SANGSAD BHABAN, April 30, 2019 (BSS) – Planning Minister M A Mannan today said the next population and household census will be held in 2021.
“As per the continuation of every ten years …the next ‘Population and Household Census’ will be held in 2021,” said the minister responding to a query made by treasury bench lawmaker Ali Azam of Bhola-2 in the Jatiya Sangsad here.
In 2011, the minister said the last ‘Population census and Household Survey 2011’ was held.
As pre the census report, country’s total population was 14,97,72,364—where 7,49,80,386 were male and 7,47,91,978 were female.
Meanwhile, the statistics act, 2013 was enacted in the Jatiya Sangsad in 2013, said the minister, adding that population census was replaced by the ‘Population and Household census’ as per the act.
