DHAKA, April 23, 2019 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today said a slat board will be formed to protect the interest of salt farmers and develop the salt industry.
“Everyone, related to the slat industry, will represent in the board.
Through this, effective steps will be taken to modernize the salt industry and develop the living standard of salt farmers,” he said while addressing at a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Salt Mills Owners Association at the Industries Ministry in the city, said a press release.
He said the government is working to protect the interest of domestic salt farmers. “The government is providing all kinds of policy supports to save salt farmers,” he added
Among others, Bangladesh Salt Mills Owners Association President Nurul Kabir, Senior Vice President M Motaherul Islam, Vice President Omar Faruk Mithu and Joint Chief of the Industries Ministry Dr M Aktharuzzaman were present.
