Paushi’s debut album launched

DHAKA, April 8, 2019 (BSS) – Music album of talented singer Baishakhi Ibnat Paushi was launched at a programme at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the city recently.

Four years after the untimely departure of the young singer, the album titled ‘Koto Ful Jhore Geche’ was finally released at the National Music and Dance auditorium of the academy on April 5.

The singer died after she completed recording the songs of her first album. Music arrangements of the album, consisting of 12 melodious tracks, has been made by eminent music director of the country Sheikh Sadi Khan. Notable, Paushi was an enlisted singer of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar.

Speakers at the launching programme said Baishakhi Ibnat Paushi was a very talented and creative singer on whom the future of our music industry depended a lot. In her short music career, she sang the songs of many top level lyricists.

The speakers said the country has lost a prominent singer at the death of Paushi.

Remembering Paushi, noted musician Sri Anil Kumar Saha said, “I knew Paushi from her childhood. She was admitted into a music school at only four year old.”

Md Zakir Hossain Akand, member of Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Infrastructure division of the planning commission was present as the chief guest. Liakat Ali Lucky, director general of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, chaired the launching programme.

Among others, eminent Nazrul Sangeet exponent Khairul Anam Shakil, vice-chairman of Bangla TV Golam Dastagir Nishat, musician Sheikh Sadi Khan, Paushi’s father Nazrul Islam Sarkar, additional secretary of the planning commission and mother Momotaz Begum, among others, were present at the programme.

The album ‘Koto Ful Jhore Geche’ has been named following the second track
of the album.

Paushi died on May 7 in 2015 at an early age.

She obtained BA and MA degrees in social welfare from University of Dhaka.
