Met office forecasts rainfall at few places

DHAKA, April 4, 2019 (BSS) -Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at few places over the country in 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

“There is no heavy rainfall warning . . . But rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Barishal and Khulna divisions with hails at isolated places,” said a met office release here this noon.

Day temperature may rise slightly over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country, the release said, adding, “Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.”

Yesterday’s highest temperature was recorded 34.6 degrees Celsius at Khulna in Khulna division and today’s minimum temperature 119.4 degrees Celsius at Dimla in Rangpur division.

Today’s sunset at Dhaka would be at 06:15pm while tomorrow’s sunrise would be here at 05:47am.

Meanwhile, there is no marine and inland riverports warning and no signals to be hoisted, the release added this noon.
