Tornado ransacks five villages in Joypurhat
JOYPURHAT, April 2, 2019 (BSS) – A severe storm ransacked five villages
under Panchbibi upazila of the district this afternoon.
At least 21 people were injured and around 500 houses damaged by the storm
which continued one and half an hour. The villages are Noada, Somsabad,
Baguan, Danejpur and Dharonji.
Hail also damaged a huge crop’s field in those villages.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Razibul Alam visited the spots.
The injured people were admitted to District Adhunik Hospial. Most of them
were injured due to tree or wall collapse, locals said.
