Take preparation to face challenges of FIR: Palak
RAJSHAHI, March 28, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for ICT Zunid Ahmed Palak
today called for taking preparation to face the challenge of Fourth
Industrial Revolution (FIR) and utilize the prospects to be created due to
emergence of engineering technologies.
“We will lag behind if we fail to face challenges of FIR and utilize the
opportunities to be created due to digital transformation,” he said while
addressing a function marking an IT-ITES job fair-2019 at Shaheed
Shukharanjan Samadder Teachers-Students Cultural Centre of Rajshahi
University.
The programme was presided over by LICT project director Md Rezaul Karim
while communication expert of the LICT project Ajit Kumar Sarkar spoke on the
occasion.
Palak said the government has been working to introduce engineering
technologies like Internet of Things (IOT) and Artificial Technologies (AI)
in health, education and agriculture to reduce cost and ensure better
service.
Describing the development activities in the field of digital
transformation, the state minister said the government has set up Sheikh
Russel Digital Lab to expand digital education.
The ‘IT-ITES Job Fair’ was organised by the ICT Division and Leveraging
ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance, with assistance from Bangladesh
Computer Council, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services
and Bangladesh Association of Call Center and Outsourcing.
Forty leading IT companies took part in the fair. Around 15,000 graduates
attended the event.
A number of seminars on career development and debate competition were also
organised on Shaheed Sukharanjan Samadder’s Student Teacher Cultural Centre.
