Government walks on a right path to root out militancy: Muhith

DHAKA, Mar 5, 2018 (BSS)-Finance Minister AMA Muhith today said the government is walking on the right path to root out terrorism and militancy as a vested quarter has been trying to hamper the country’s progress and prosperity by carrying out militant attacks.

“The government is working to identify the militants. After identification of the militants, we will eliminate them immediately,” he told journalists after a meeting with newly elected executive committee of the Bangladesh Civil Service Economic Association (BCSEA) at the Finance Ministry in thecity.

Among others, BCSEA president Kazi Jahangir Alam, General Secretary Farid Aziz, Treasurer M Mahmudur Rahman and Organising Secretary Joynal Molla attended the meeting.

Referring to the comments of BNP-Jammat alliance on the attacks on Professor Dr Muhammad ZafarIqbal, Muhith said, “Jammat is the enemy of the country and this party has no right to stay inBangladesh.”

When the BCSEA team sought support from the Finance Minister for accelerating the merging process between the Civil Administration Service and Civil Economic Service, Muhith assured of his cooperation in this regard. “The decision on merging is obviously going to be positive,” he said.
