DMP fines traffic rule violators Taka 33 lakh on single day
DHAKA, March 21, 2019 (BSS) – The Traffic Department of Dhaka Metropolitan
Police (DMP) in a daylong drive in the capital on Wednesday penalised
different vehicles over
Taka 33 lakh and filed 6,548 cases for violating traffic rules.
Besides, 113 vehicles were dumped and 770 were put on the wrecker during
the drive, DMP sources said today.
Actions were taken against 127 vehicles for using illegal hydraulic horns,
while 1,298 vehicles for driving on wrong way, three vehicles for using
hooter and beacon lights and 12 microbuses for using dark tinted glass.
Cases were filed against 2,749 motorbikes and 91 motorbikes were put on
the wrecker for allegedly violating traffic rules. On the other hand, 22
cases were filed against drivers for using mobile phone while driving.
