Heavy snowfall forces Super-G delay in Sochi

MOSCOW, March 2, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Organisers of the Women’s Alpine Ski
World Cup were forced to postpone the Super-G race at Sochi’s Rosa Khutor
slope on Saturday due to heavy snowfall.

The event is now scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Russian alpine ski federation spokeswoman Olga Laeva told AFP that heavy
snowfall overnight gave the organisers no chance to prepare the race track.

“The snow fell all night,” she said. “We were just unable to prepare the
track for the event in time.”

Snowfall on Friday forced organisers to cancel Saturday’s downhill at
Sochi’s Rosa Khutor ski station.
