BCL panel collects nomination forms for DUCSU polls

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2019 (BSS) – The 25-member panel of Bangladesh Chhatra
League (BCL) today collected nomination forms for contesting the upcoming
DUCSU and its hall union polls slated for March 11.

Organisation’s president Md Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon, general
secretary (GS) Golam Rabbani and its DU unit general secretary Saddam Hussain
collected forms against vice-president (VP), general secretary (GS) and
assistant general secretary (AGS) posts respectively.

Other candidates 25-member panel – – Saad Bin Qader for liberation war
secretary post, Arif Ebne Ali for science and technology secretary, BM Lipi
Akhter for common room and cafeteria secretary, Shahrima Tanjina Arni for
international secretary, Mazharul Kabir Sayan for literary secretary, Sham-e-
Noman for cultural secretary, Shakil Ahmed Tanvir for sports secretary, Rakib
Hawlader for students’ transport secretary, Azizul Haque Sarker for social
services secretary – – also collected forms from respective dormitories they
attached with.

“We want the students can exercise their franchise independently. We are
hopeful about our victory, if all students can exercise their voting rights
freely,” Shovon told reporters after collecting his form from his attached
dormitory Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall.

He urged the DU students to cast their votes in favour of BCL to keep
continue the democratic practices on the campus and flourish the cultural
practices.

Shovon said a level playing field is being prevailed on the campus as all
students’ bodies are performing their organisational activities in a proper
way ahead of the polls.

On Sunday, BCL DU unit president and organization’s chief coordinator for
Ducsu polls Sonjit Chandra Das announced the organisation’s panel for DUCSU
polls along with VPs and GSs candidates for hall union polls at a press
conference at DU Madhur Canteen.
