DHAKA, Feb 20, 2018 (BSS) – Thirty-two out of 57 Bangladesh missions abroad successfully achieved their respective export targets in the first half of the current fiscal year (2017-18), according to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

The key Bangladesh missions like Brussels, New Delhi, Canberra, Ottawa, London, Madrid, Washington, Athens, The Hague, Muscat, Manama, Warsaw, Riyadh, Lisbon, Rome, and New York achieved their export targets in the July-December period of FY18.

Some other missions, like Berlin, Tokyo, Paris, Moscow, Stockholm, Beijing, Yangon, Geneva, Hanoi, Vienna, Copenhagen, and Ankara, however, failed to attain their six-month export target.

The overall export earnings for the period amounted to $17,916.02 million against the strategic target of $17,875 million, showing a slight growth of 0.23 percent.

Of the 57 Bangladesh missions, 25 missions could not meet their respective export targets set for the six-month period, according to the latest statistics provided by the EPB.

The 32 well-performing missions abroad are in Brussels, New Delhi, Canberra, Ottawa, Tehran, London, Madrid, Washington, Athens, Brasilia, Hong Kong, Nairobi, Kuwait, Amman, Male, Port Luis, Mexico City, The Hague, Muscat, Manama, Warsaw, Riyadh, Cairo, Tripoli, Doha, Pretoria, Lisbon, Rome, Thimphu, Islamabad, Tashkent and New York.
