Acting UK envoy meets deputy education minister
DHAKA, Feb 12, 2019 (BSS) – Acting British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Kanbar Hossein-Bor today expressed Britain’s willingness to introduce academic exchange programme in higher education between Bangladeshi and the UK.
He came up with the UK’s eagerness as he had a meeting with Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury at his secretariat office here, said an official press release.
Bor said different academic exchange programmes like branches of different British universities are kept functioning in India, Malaysia and other countries.
If such exchange cooperation between Bangladesh and Britain is implemented, a large number of foreign students will be encouraged to receive education from Bangladeshi universities and it will enhance the image of higher education in Bangladesh.
Mohibul extended his thanks to the British envoy for his proposal and expressed his optimism that if the programme is introduced, bilateral relations between the nations will further be strengthened.
British High Commission First Secretary (Political) Abu Zaki and Political Analyst Ezazur Rahman were present, among others.
