Quota for challenged people to remain unchanged
GAZIPUR, Feb 10, 2019 (BSS) – Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed today said that the quota for the challenged people would remain unchanged and the government is now working for increasing the allowance for them.
“The present government is playing a vital role for the development of the challenged people, “he said, adding “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed taking up a number of programmes for the country’s underprivileged.”
Nuruzzaman made the remarks at a stipend distribution function among challenged students at Maitri Shilpa, an organization operated by the differently abled at Tongi here.
The minister also visited the production center of the Maitri Shilpa.
State Minister for Social Welfare Sharif Ahmed and Senior Secretary of the ministry Zuena Aziz addressed the function as special guests with Executive Director of the Maitri Shilpa Selim Khan in the chair.
Deputy Director of Gazipur Social Services Division Anwarul Karim and other senior officials of the Social Services’ office were present in the programme.
