100 high-tech entrepreneurs to be developed by 5 years

DHAKA, Jan 29, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Industrial and Technical Assistant Centre (BITAC) would develop 100 high-tech entrepreneurs by next five years for establishing knowledge-based industrial development.

The government has taken the initiative to develop the entrepreneurs as part of its efforts of building an industrially developed Bangladesh, an official release said. This was revealed at a seminar titled “Technology for Sustainable Growth” in the conference room of the Industries Ministry.

Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry Md Enamul Haque, Executive Member of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Navas Chandra Mandal, Additional secretary of the Industries Minister Shahidul Islam and President of Bangladesh Light Engineering Industry Owners Association Md Abdur Razzak, among others, addressed the seminar with BITAC Director General Dr Dilip Kumar Sharma in the chair.

Director of the BITAC Dr Syed Md Ihsanul karim presented the keynote paper at the seminar.

At the seminar, speakers laid emphasis on skilled manpower to make Bangladesh an industrially developed country. They said the country should manufacture spare parts for using local industries aiming to lessen the volume of imports to accelerate development of Bangladesh.

The speakers also stressed the need for setting up a tool village at the private sector for further development of industrial sector.
