Khokan reappointed PM’s deputy press secretary

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2019 (BSS) – Ashraful Alam Khokan has been reappointed as a deputy press secretary to the Prime Minister.

The Ministry of Public Administration today issued a notification in this regard.

“Ashraful Alam Khokan has been given appointment to the post of the Prime Minister’s deputy press secretary on contractual basis in the highest salary fixed in the grade IV from January 7 in 2019 or joining the date till the tenure of the Premier or subject to her satisfaction (which happens earlier),” the notification said.

Khokan, former general secretary of Dhaka University Journalists Association, has been serving as the PM’s deputy press secretary for nearly six and a half years.

He was first appointed as the PM’s deputy press secretary in 2013 for one year and later his tenure was extended.

Khokan earlier worked in the Daily Muktokontho and Channel-i.

While going to perform his professional duty, he was seriously injured in the grisly grenade attack on an Awami League rally on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on August 21, 2004.
