SYLHET, Jan 27, 2019 (BSS)- Country’s first bicycle sharing service Jobike
on Sunday launched ‘test run’ at Shahjalal University of Science and
Technology (SUST) in Sylhet.

The students of the university from now can avail the mobile application-
based intra-campus bicycle service from 8 am to 12am midnight, a press
release said.

Jobike is a mobile application which enables users to find bicycles for
use on a temporary basis. After downloading the application, users will have
to open an account and then they can easily unlock the bicycles by scanning
the QR code.

SUST Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the service at
a function in front of Education Building-E in the campus on Sunday morning.
SUST Proctor Prof Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Prof Anwarul Islam and Prof Manzoor
Rashid were also present on the occasion.

From Jobike, Founder Mehedi Reza, Co-Founder Mohmmad Azharul Qudrat Khan,
Business Development Specialist Istiaque Ahmed and Operations Manager Sheuly
Akter were present, among other officials.

To avail the service, users have to download Jobike from app store first
and then open account using relevant information. The service top-up is
available at customer service centre in the campus.

Earlier on June 18 last year, Jobike started its journey as country’s first
bicycle service with a test run in Cox’s Bazar after launching in
Jahangirnagar University and Chittagong University last year.

The service hit Dhaka streets in early January this year through Mirpur
DOHS operations.
