Enhancing expertise of female entrepreneurs underscored

RANGPUR, Jan 15, 2019 (BSS) – Academicians and development experts here
have stressed on enhancing knowledge, expertise and skill of female
entrepreneurs to explore their enormous talents and capabilities.

“Skill-development training always enhances expertise of entrepreneurs
increasing their self-confidence to achieve success in changing fortune,”
said Vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr
Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah.

Professor Kalimullah said this on Monday at the function held at BRAC
Learning Centre here after completion of month-long ‘Women Entrepreneurship
Training’ programmes in different phases as the chief guest.

Some 200 selected female students of DWRTI and BRUR participated in the
two-day group-wise training programmes in phases from October 16 to November
20 last to promote their empowerment for building a peaceful and prosperous
Bangladesh.

The Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ) of BRAC University with Dr Wazed
Research and Training Institute (DWRTI) under assistance of the UN WOMEN
organised the trainings in different groups for 200 selected female students
of the university.

Moderated by Research Coordinator of the CPJ of BRAC University Muhammad
Badiuzzaman, it’s Executive Director Manzoor Hasan OBE, Administrator of the
Public Relations, Information and Publication Division of BRUR Professor Dr
Sarifa Salowa Dina and Member of the Board of Governance of DWTRI Dr Saber
Ahmed Chowdhury spoke as special guests.

Registrar of BRUR Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal, Entrepreneurship Specialist of
the CPJ of BRAC University Pervin S Huda, its Programme Coordinator Nilufa
Sultana, Assistant Trainer Mohsena Ashraf and Research Associate Zia Uddin
were present.

The speakers said the training programmes would effectively enhance
skills of participant female students in exploring their talents and
capabilities for preparing proper business planning to become successful
entrepreneurs.

The chief guest urged the female participants to properly utilise the
knowledge, skills and expertise they acquired from the training programmes in
running their future enterprises successfully to attain self-reliance and
empowerment.
