JP nominee for Gazipur-1 seat lends support to Mozammel

GAZIPUR, Dec 21, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Party nominee for Gazipur-1 constituency Shariful Islam Sharif today withdrew his candidacy in favour of the grand alliance candidate Liberation War and Religious Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, lending his support to the latter.

Shariful Islam Sharif, flanked by huge number of JP leaders and activists, including freedom fighter and Jatiya Party Gazipur district unit President Abdus Sattar Mia, extended his support to the ruling Awami League-led grand alliance candidate AKM Mozammel Haque.

Exchanging views with the journalists, Mozammel expressed his commitment to work for ‘boat’ to help the grand alliance-led government continue its development endeavours.

The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken various initiatives for the welfare of the journalists, including formation of the ninth wage board award, he said.

Mozammel said the government is providing financial assistance to the journalists through the Journalists’ Welfare Trust.

He urged everyone to vote for ‘boat’ for building a prosperous and happy Bangladesh in coming days.
