RAJSHAHI, Dec 12, 2018 (BSS)-Spontaneous support from the community is
very important to free the society from all sorts of crimes including
militancy, terrorism and drug-addiction.

All concerned should be committed to making the society free from the
crimes as police alone cannot do the job without community support.

The observation came at a community meeting on Kasiadanga Degree College
playground in the city on Tuesday afternoon.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) organized the anti-militancy and anti-
drug addiction meeting with the main thrust of encouraging and motivating the
people towards freeing the society from various crimes.

RMP Commissioner AKM Hafiz Akter addressed the meeting as chief guest with
its Deputy Commissioner Joynal Abedeen in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner Tariqul Islam, Senior Assistant Commissioner Ifte
Khayer Alam and Assistant Commissioners Habibur Rahman and Utpal Kumar
Chowdhury also spoke.

RMP Commissioner Hafiz Akter said the community people should extend
cooperation towards police with specific information about criminals.

The community people know well about location of the criminals, drug
traffickers and traders and the police need the information from the citizens
for taking legal action against them.

He added that police-citizens joint efforts against the social crimes can
be the vital means of freeing the society from the crimes.

“If you give us authentic information about criminals and other anti-social
elements, we will put in our level best efforts to bring them to book as
early as possible,” he reminded the community people.
