RANGPUR, Dec 11, 2018 (BSS)-The ‘Swasswato Bangla Muktijudhdho Jadughar
(SBMJ)’ began celebrations of the Great Victory Day -2018 here from Monday
evening amid huge enthusiasm through weeklong colourful cultural programmes.
Like in the previous years, the SBMJ under management of Rangpur
Cantonment Public School and College and The Millennium Stars School and
College is organising the celebrations on the ‘Mukta Mancha’ set up on the
SBMJ premises in the city.
Rangpur Area Headquarters of Bangladesh Army is patronizing the event.
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Joynul Bari attended the
inaugural function as the chief guest.
Principal of Rangpur Cantonment Public School and College and president of
the observance celebration committee Colonel Md Nurul Huda presided over the
inaugural function.
Station Commander and high-ranking military officials of Rangpur
Cantonment and divisional and district level civil administrations, noted
sociocultural activists, civil society members and elite of the city attended
the function.
The celebrations began through rendering the national anthem by members of
the observance celebration committee followed by a colourful cultural
function.
The artistes of ‘Spondon Nattya and Sangskritik Sangathan’, ‘Rangpur
Nrittya Shilpi Sangstha’ and ‘Carmichael Nattya-Sahittya Sangsad’ rendered
colourful cultural programmes on the inaugural day of the celebrations.
On the second day today, artistes of ‘Paglapeer Shishu Sangeet
Biddyalaya’, ‘Rangpur Charupath Academy’ and Begum Rokeya University unit of
‘Goongoon’ will render various cultural programmes in the evening.
As part of the weeklong celebrations, students and artistes of a number of
educational institutions, socio-cultural and literary organisations of the
district will render colourful cultural presentations daily in the evening on
the same venue.
