21 held, Phensidyl seized in Dinajpur
DINAJPUR, Dec 30, 2017 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 19
persons including two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from different areas of
the district in last 12-hour ending at 8am this morning.
Law enforcers also recovered 200 bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested four persons, Birganj
Thana police arrested two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami from Kabirajhat around
11pm, Birampur Thana police arrested one person, Nawabganj Thana police
arrested two persons, Hakimpur Thana police arrested three persons, Biral
Thana police arrested two persons, Khansama Thana police arrested two persons
and Kaharole Thana police arrested three persons.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending
with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources
added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained
two persons with 200 bottles of Phensidyl from Katrahat around 6am in
Birampur upazila of the district.
Later, the arrested persons were handed over to the Birampur Thana police,
BGB said.
The arrested people were sent to jail.
