Bangladesh role model for development-Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury

KHULNA, Dec 29, 2017 (BSS) – Media Advisor to the Prime Minister and
eminent journalist Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury here today said Bangladesh became a
role model for development in the world.

“Bangladesh marches towards a developed country under the leadership of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The development in the South-Western region is
ongoing. Through the construction of the Padma Bridge, the Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina has set up an example of mega development across the country in
last nine years,” he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the annual general meeting of Khulna
Press Club (KPC) held at the journalist Liakat Ali Auditorium.

“Anti Liberation forces are still hatching conspiracy to destroy law and
order situation, democracy and development”, he said.

Terming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina mother of humanity in the world, he
said, as a humanitarian country Bangladesh has given shelters to the Mayanmar
peoples.

He urged journalists to write against drug, corruption, terrorism and
militancy for building a modern and developed Bangladesh.

“Professional journalists have more responsibilities in this regard and we
should work to root out militancy from the country,” Iqbal Sobhan added.

He remember the contribution of eminent journalists Humayun Kabir Balu, and
Manik Saha, former president of Khulna Press Club, in journalism profession
and for making ‘Swadhinatar Roktosiri’, a terakota works of the history of
1952-1971 of Bangladesh.

Presided over by KPC President Habibur Rahman, the programme was addressed,
among others, by parliament members Talukder Abdul Khaleque and Mizanur
Rahman Mizan, Khulna Zila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Harunur Rashid, Khulna
Divisional Commissioner Lokman Hossain Mia and deputy commissioner Amin-ul-
Ahsan.
