Diploma engineers urged to render services with sincerity, honesty
RAJSHAHI, Nov 8, 2018 (BSS)-Speakers at a discussion here today urged the diploma engineers to perform their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for successful implementation of the development programmes.
They termed the diploma engineers as a big resource of the country and if the resource were properly utilized, the cherished development of the nation could be achieved.
Local unit of Institution of Diploma Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) organized the meeting at its office to mark the Mass-Engineering Day and IDEB’s 48th founding anniversary.
Earlier, a procession participated by diploma engineers was brought out in the city marking the occasion.
The discussion was attended by mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton as chief guest and Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, special guest respectively with IDEB’s local unit president Kabir Uddin in the chair.
IDEB members Syed Sayeed Ahmed, Moshiur Rahman, Moinul Haque and Hossain Shahid Sohrawardi also spoke in the meeting.
Mayor Liton said there is no alternative to rendering services with utmost sincerity and honesty for making the nation happy, prosperous and self-reliant.
“Diploma engineers have a vital role to play for making all the public level development activities transparent and appropriate, which is very important for the nation”, he said.
In the past, he said, people of the country had witnessed huge plundering of public money in the name of development works resulting deprivation of the people from benefits of the development works.
Liton, however, said the present government has been working relentlessly to resist both the institutional and non-institutional corruption for betterment of the nation.
Taking part in the discussion, some of the IDEB leaders have demanded to increase the technical education 45 percent by 2030.
