92 sued over explosive recovery in Ctg Shibir office

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 4, 2018 (BSS)- Chattogram Metropolitan Police filed a case
against 92 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir with Chawkbazar
thana after the recovery of crude bombs and other explosives from its office
in the port city’s Chandanpura area.

The case was filed mentioning the name of 52 leaders and activists of
Chhatra Shibir including its president and General Secretary (GS) and the
rest were unidentified, Additional Deputy Commissioner (South) Shah Mohammad
Abdur Rauf, told BSS.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Anisur Rahman Shibli of Chawkbazar thana filed the case
under the Special Powers Act and the Explosives Act.

Police said four or five explosions were heard by locals from ICS city
unit office building at Chandanpura area on Saturday.

Later, police recovered six crude bombs, huge gunpowder, glass shards,
stones, two liters of petrol and wooden substance after raiding its office
building from 7pm to 9 pm, Rouf said.

ICS city North President Abdul Jabbar, General Secretary ASM Raihan, and
Baitulmal secretaries Hamid Hassan and Aman Ullah were among the 52 accused
in the case. About 40 suspects were unnamed.
