Rajshahi fight back after Taijul’s 5-wicket on day 2 in NCL

DHAKA, Dec 21, 2017 (BSS)- A five-wicket haul by Taijul Islam saw Rajshahi Division fought back in the match as they dismissed Dhaka Metro for 328 on the second day of the tier-2 four-day 19th National Cricket League held on Thursday at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.

Dhaka Metro resumed their first innings on the second day (Thursday) with overnight score at 210 for 4 and finally folded their innings at 328.

Taijul, the wrecker in chief, caused the major damage as he claimed five Metro’s wickets giving away 105 runs. He was well supported by Farhad Reza who bagged three wickets for 57 runs.

Besides, Shafiul Islam took two wickets conceding 71 runs.

In reply, Rajshahi got off a good start in their first innings as they finished the second day with 95 for no loss with Mizanur Rahman and Nazmul Hossain were on the crease with 47 and 43 runs respectively at stumps.
