Rangpur Div. dismiss for 147 as Gazi takes 5-wicket in NCL
DHAKA, Oct 22, 2018 (BSS)- A five-wicket haul by Sohag Gazi saw Rangpur Division suffered batting debacle as they dismissed their first innings at 147 against Barisal Division on the first day of tier-1 fourth round of four-day National Cricket League held on Monday at Rangpur Cricket Garden in Rangpur.
Opener Rakin Ahmed top scored while Nayeem Islam added 39 as the Rangpur batsmen failed to build any effective partnership to stretch the innings in the face of tight bowling attacks by the Barisal Division’s bowlers.
Apart from Sohag Gazi’s five wickets for 40 runs, Monir Hossain captured two wickets for 11 runs.
In reply, Barisal Division started their second innings in the afternoon and scored 35 for 2 at stumps. Rafsan Al Mahmud and Al-Amin were on the crease with 14 and 8 runs as the stamps were drawn for the day. Subashish Roy captured two Barisal’s wickets conceding 13 runs.
